i still kind of think of drowning in the sea as a romantic death, not so much the dying part but becoming into the ocean with seaweed hair, scaly skin and the brightest of barnacle eyes.

To start off, as a feminist I feel its so important to be receptive to criticism, especially from folks who embody ideals of what initially attracted me to feminism, which was not simply just the rights of women, but women and trans folk of all identities as well as education and practice of recognizing of privilege and marginalization between classes, abilities, generations, cultures in addition to sex and gender.
When I first read, Monica Robert’s post “Ain’t Feeling Feminism” I immediately became defensive and had to check myself because in many ways (at least from white, middle class, educated background) it’s a privilege to be a feminist and historically this demographic of women has done some damaging shit. I have also never seen the faces of say Janice Raymond and Germaine Greer who have spouted ridiculous amount of transphobia. It provoked a very odd reaction to see what they looked like, this people who have caused such hate and misunderstanding within an ideology I identify with so much.

there has been some comparison between the initial portraits back in the fall and now which seem so scattered. i was much more isolated in the fall, my process very internal, but since I have moved, I have been meeting new people, traveling and touring some consistency so there are many hastily sewn tentacles. the past few days or so have been those nights where I roll over at 1 a.m. to get something down.
i do not usually name portraits but neon blood beard bath

Thanks! to everyone who came out to the Neverland Cabaret Benefit and Dance Party last night.

It was my first time seeing most the performers and I was completely blown away, though I expected the none the less.
The roster included Straight Razor (gender bending performance troupe), Lee on guitar, the Flora y Fauna Doublet, Tiny Dirty (dancer in the dark), and Adelaide Windsome. Please check out these performers if you get a chance to.

We were also able to raise a decent amount of funds for our friends who are currently down in Nicaragua rescuing their younger siblings from an abusive situation and currently trying to get them into school for the first time.

Special thanks to Moni, Kestrel, danni, Clay, Wolfie and Jake for being stellar helpers in making this happen.
visual art is certainly performance art in its process even if it is unintentional. viewing someones hands and bodies while they work is pretty magical.
roving tentacles were documented during a short trip to connecticut and were filmed via amtrak train and my cousin’s apartment.

the light of passing landscapes is what i really love

Another book is complete, another essential organ

some tentacles take on the role of shadows, existing in the corners of eyes, posing as a peripheral.

now there is either yes or there is no but shadows seem to just go with anyway not such for better or worse but an ill take that anyhow

and the shadow then did the unexpected by sliding itself slyly up on to my ankle and wrapping itself around my leg spiraling up over my upper thighs and entering the body through my belly button. it snuck between organs and outside the back of my throat and rested behind me eyes. nightime had come.

our eyes met the sky illuminated by the brightness of stars sending shards of light into our eyes. “isnt it beautiful?” she asked and I was crying. She turned to me and leaned forward and not for a hug or kiss. She leaned into my cheek and bit the tears right off taking the sharp bits of starlight into her mouth. She smiled and I went blind…
i can not hold my breathe for the summer months, the beating sun punds my frozen heart

i really wish the winter did not make me so melodramatic
